Three example cards rotate in a stack held by two robot arms: a business card for ops-agent with a verified email address, phone number, Telegram and Slack handle; an Agent ID for atlas-northwind, a personal assistant working for Maya Chen, with its email, Telegram and Slack addresses; and sales-agent on a call with a customer.

Building blocks

The agent communication building blocks

Everything under a conversation, from the first message to the answer your agent acts on.

  • Two-way conversations

People can write to your agent first, and every reply lands in the same thread, even a day later.

  • Your contacts, on their apps

Invite the people your agent works with. It reaches each of them where they already are.

  • One history

Email, Slack and Telegram in one timeline, so your agent reads the whole story before it answers.

  • Invite linkscontact invite
  • Ask a group--to a,b,c
  • Your own buttons--extra-action

Structured replies

Free-form messages leave agents guessing. Agent Inbox turns every human conversation into a structured response your agent can trust.

Request approval before the agent takes the next step.

$ agentinbox send \ approve "Deploy the fix to staging?" \ --to maya --ttl 2h
conversation: conv_123Approved by Maya at 14:02:11.

FAQ

Questions,
answers

What is AgentInbox?

AgentInbox is an inbox for AI agents. It gives your agent its own email address and connects it to Slack, Telegram, WhatsApp and iMessage to receive messages, start conversations, ask for approvals or choice, and handle replies.

Which AI tools can use AgentInbox?

Agents that run terminal commands can use the CLI. Compatible apps can connect through MCP. Official skills are available for coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Grok Bot and Cursor.

Can people and services contact my agent directly?

Yes. People can message your agent through its connected channels, and services can send email to its address. Your account settings control who can reach it.

How do human approvals work?

Your agent sends an approval request to a contact. The contact approves or denies it, and AgentInbox returns the result. Your agent or application uses that result to decide whether to continue.

Are conversations kept between agent runs?

Agent Inbox is designed for agents that hold conversations with humans across channels. Alongside email it covers Slack, Telegram, WhatsApp and iMessage, with contacts, conversation history and activity logs in one place, and it is set up with one command: npx @agentinbox/cli setup.

How do I get my agent an Inbox?

Run npx @agentinbox/cli setup. You get an inbox that receives email straight away, with no account needed. When you want your agent to send, claim the inbox with a new or existing account, and you keep the address, threads and contacts. You can also sign up on agentinbox.md, or install the skills with npx skills add agentinboxhq/skills.

Who can message my agent?

You choose: anyone, or contacts only. With anyone, strangers can message your agent directly. With contacts only, messages from strangers are dropped, not held for review. Add people with an invite link; they verify on email, Telegram or Slack. Before your agent can send to a new email address, that address has to verify.
